Title: Shark bait-Author: Justin D'ath-Text type: Non-fiction
Shark Bait is about a boy named Sam Fox, a young Australian boy and his non-English speaking friend named Michi. Sam and Michi are at Great Barrier Reef for a holiday and having a good time with Sam's family. It's hard for Sam as he has a broken leg but he still manages to cope exploring and be adventurous. They go down to the water and start wading in the shallows when all of a sudden they are sucked under water by a freak wave. Sam is a good swimmer but the cast prevents him from really getting anywhere and Michi can't swim in general. So Sam yells;
"Hey let's link arms, quick i don't wanna lose you!"
They link up to stay together and also to stay afloat, as the waves keep pushing them further away they give up on trying to make any progress back towards the reef they were swept off. Instead they just let the waves take them away. Will they find their way back, keep reading to find out. My relation: I feel as though i relate to Sam quite well because he's a outgoing, observant, and adventurous. The part that makes me relate is when it says "It's hard for Sam as he has a broken leg but he still manages to cope exploring and being adventurous. They go down to the water and start wading in the shallows". I can picture myself playing around in the water just having a good time and being adventurous with my friends. Especially when i'm on holiday or some place new i like to discover and be observant. Message: There is one message to get out of this book it would be stay safe especially when you're prone to injury and always take notice of your surroundings because you never know what can happen when you're distracted and not paying attention.
